Live ‘tag’ session with Houston Patton

Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 31st, beginning at 4pm, the Center for Visual Artists will feature graffiti/ tattoo artist, Houston Patton, in a live ‘tag’ session.  Patton will be painting a 7 ft x 14 ft graffiti piece for ART:UNAUTHORIZED, a ’street art’ exhibition.  Houston Patton is a tattoo artist at King Pin Studio and was named ‘Best Visual Artist’ in YES! Weekly’s 2010 Best of the Triad issue.

ART:UNAUTHORIZED will open with a reception, Friday, September 10 at 6pm and will be on display through October 16, 2010.

‘TRASH’ DROP OFF

The CVA gallery will be taking submissions for the ‘TRASH’ exhibition this Friday, June 18 and Saturday, June 19 from 10 - 5pm.  Please note that ALL entries must be accompanied with a ‘TRASH’ entry form, a 100 word or less TYPED artist statement about the specific work and it’s relevance to the issue of waste and consumption and a $10 entry fee.  ($10 per entry/ two entry limit)  Entry forms are available for download under the ‘Exhibitions’ tab at the top of the page.  Please call the gallery with any questions at 333-7485.
