Jennifer A. Reis is a creative entrepreneur, artist, educator and gallery director who has over 25 years of experience in arts business, administration, and higher education. Currently Assistant Professor of Arts Administration and Entrepreneurship at UNC-Greensboro, her research and practice focuses on empowering creative entrepreneurs with the mindsets and skills to survive and thrive. She is a trained Facilitator for the AIR Institute of Berea College, Etsy’s Craft Entrepreneurship Program, and a Master Facilitator for the Kauffman Foundation’s FastTrac Program; and she consults or community development, trade, and cultural organizations including the Kentucky Arts Council, Mountain Association for Community Economic Development, and the Association for Creative Industries. Her artistic practice in hand-stitched textiles has been honored with numerous awards, including Kentucky’s Al Smith Fellowship, national adjudicated and invitational exhibitions, and teaching opportunities at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, John C. Each session is open to all skill levels. Participants work in a community environment where beginner to advanced students learn together and from one another under the guidance of a mentor instructor. Join artist Peter Daye for a fun, DIY workshop where you can learn the basics of screen printing. Working in the CVA Print Studio at the Greensboro Cultural Center, students will have the opportunity to print a tote bag, meet others who are just beginning to learn about screen printing, and learn new skills. Workshop fee includes all materials.

Under the direction of a professional photographer, this class provides an introduction to the camera with an emphasis on understanding the photographic triangle, the relationship between aperture/f-stop, shutter speed, and ISO settings. Over the course of five Saturdays, students will practice street photography, portraiture, and a commercial photography experience in an on-site location shoot. The students will come away with a working knowledge of the photographic triangle in a variety of shooting environments and lighting situations.
>Session runs for 5 weeks, 2 hours each week
>Week 5 focuses on an orientation to Lightroom and image management

Are you looking for a fun, creative way to spend more time with your family? In this exciting, new class, families will work together using hand-building techniques to create complementary ceramic pieces. Class is appropriate for all skill levels.

Looking to energize and sustain your art practice? This class will give you tools and techniques to level up your creative work, no matter your medium. We’ll do creative exercises, take field trips, make professional contacts, and work as a group to nourish your work and your life. Every class we will: share your work, get feedback, develop connections and community, and nurture your creative spirit.
Join us once weekly to learn new/improve upon existing painting skills and techniques. During the session, you will explore color theory while working on observational painting and painting from photographs. Drawing elements will be included in the class, and the instructor will also incorporate chalk and/or oil pastels. A list of suggested materials will be provided prior to the first class.

Landscape painting class with artist, Harry Turfle. This class is open to adults only, but all skill levels are welcome. Whether you have never picked up a paintbrush or are a painter looking to improve your existing skills, this class is for you! The instructor works with individual students based on their levels. He also incorporates basic drawing skills instruction into each class as needed. Students will be given a supply list prior to the start of the class.
Students will enjoy creating out-of-the-box jewelry designs using their own inspiration and style using resin techniques. This class is open to adults only. The $40 fee covers two sessions and includes all materials.

Have you always wanted to create something beautiful that you are proud to display? Then this class is for you! Join our instructors as they guide you through the creative process. You will leave each class session with at least one finished piece suitable for framing that you will love to show to everyone. No experience necessary. Projects differ each class, but they will always include painting and drawing. You will find success in these classes while enjoying a sense of community in a fun, relaxing atmosphere.
