FAQs

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR A CLASS, CAMP or WORKSHOP?
48-hour advanced registration is required for ALL classes, camps, and workshops. Register early to avoid disappointment. You may register for classes/camps at the CVA in 2 ways:

IN PERSON – You may register in person Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm, at the CVA office, 4th floor of the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center.

ONLINE REGISTRATION - Online registration is available for ALL CVA classes, workshops, & camps for all ages. All online registration require a $5 processing fee.

Classes/Camps are filled in the order registrations are received. The CVA will contact you to confirm registration when registration is received. The CVA will not contact you for class/camp reminders. It is the responsibility of the student to appear in class/camp on the correct day and time without additional notice. Students may not attend any class/camp without registration and emergency contact information on file.

WHEN DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A CLASS?
All payments MUST be paid at time of registration. Payments may be made via check, credit card, or cash. Credit card payments may be made over the phone as long as a current registration is on file. Class payments may not be paid to CVA instructors. For school year programs, an auto-charge service is available. A $25 charge will be assessed to your balance for all returned checks.

IS THE CVA CLOSED FOR HOLIDAYS OR INCLEMENT WEATHER?
The CVA and Cultural Arts Center are closed on all Greensboro city holidays. During the school year, the CVA follows the Guilford County School schedule, however, we do not follow all school closings due to inclement weather. Check out website calendar for class cancellations.

WHAT IS THE CVA'S CANCELLATION POLICY?
The CVA makes every effort to maintain the schedule of our classes/camps. However, we reserve the right to cancel any class not meeting a minimum enrollment, combine classes, and to substitute faculty when necessary. Class cancellations are decided 3 business days prior to start date. Students who miss class on their own accord will not receive a refund or make-up opportunity.

WHAT IF I AM LATE TO PICK UP MY CHILD?
We ask that our clients are courteous to our staff and pick up their children on time. A grace period of 15 minutes is allowed after the end of each class. A late pick-up fee of $1 per minute is charged for students picked up after this grace period. Students may be picked up in our Education Office for late pick up. Please be prepared to pay the late fee at time of pick up.

WHY DO SOME CLASSES HAVE TWO DIFFERENT CLASS FEES?
As a non-profit arts organization we offer memberships for individuals interested in supporting our organization. We show our gratitude for this support by offering discounted pricing to our members. With each of our programs we offer either a waved initial registration fee or price discount. Please note in our pricing M stands for "members" and NM for "nonmembers."

DO I GET A REFUND or CREDIT IF I CANCEL A CLASS?
Fees are 100% refundable if the CVA cancels a class/camp due to insufficient enrollment. Registrant cancellations are 100% transferable into another class/camp or 50% refundable. NO REFUNDS or CREDIT VOUCHERS will be issued after the class/camp start date. Credit vouchers are good for one year from the issue date and must be present at time of use. The CVA will not re-issue credit vouchers due to loss.

HOW CAN I "GIFT" SOMEONE AN ART CLASS?
Gift Certificates are available for purchase throughout the year for any amount and utilized for CVA classes, camps and workshops (not valid on gallery purchases.) Gift Certificates can be purchased in the CVA Education Office, 4th floor of the Cultural Center, Monday - Friday, 10am - 5pm. Gift Certificates are valid for a year from the purchase date. They are not redeemable for cash. Give the Gift of ART!

WHAT IF I LOSE SOMETHING or FORGET MY ART AFTER A CLASS?
The CVA is not responsible for personal property or artwork left in our premises and has no liability if such property is lost, stolen or damaged, except in instances when artwork is displayed in a gallery exhibition. The CVA does not have the space to store artwork. Any artwork left after a class ends will be discarded. The CVA is not responsible for any digital artwork or images left on the computers in the digital lab. Students must back up their work on a flashdrive.

Personal property (i.e. jackets, lunchboxes, etc.) left at the CVA is placed in the Lost & Found. Personal property not picked-up from the Lost & Found is donated to Goodwill at the end of each calendar year. Call the CVA office at 336.333.7475 to check on lost items.
